Thailand and Cambodia stop fighting

Thailand and Cambodia make a deal to stop fighting at their border. The deal starts at midday. Both countries stop moving soldiers and stop using planes for fighting.

The fighting starts because both countries want the same land. Thailand uses planes in the fighting. The deal says Thailand will send 18 Cambodian soldiers home after three quiet days. Leaders from both countries meet at the border. They sign the deal there.

Many people die in the fighting. Many families leave their homes. Both sides say the other side starts the problem. The deal asks both sides to tell true news, stop using land mines, talk about the border, and work together to stop crime.

Difficult words: border (the line between two countries), sign (to write your name to show that you agree with something), land mine (a bomb in the ground which explodes when you step on it).
