The tech and La Sagrada Familia – level 1

07-08-2025 07:00

Antoni Gaudí is an architect. He works on a big church in Barcelona. The church is La Sagrada Familia. He uses shapes from trees and light. He wants people to look up and think about God.

He makes drawings and models. Builders use them today. They use computers and 3D printers to help. They make sure the church is safe. They check the wind and the ground.

The church is very tall. The old base is not strong. People put new strong parts with stone and metal. They want to finish the church soon. It will be the tallest church in the world.

Difficult words: church (a place to speak to God), drawing (a picture you make with a pencil or pen), metal (a hard, strong material to make buildings and machines).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Which modern technologies assist builders today in using Gaudí’s drawings and models to construct La Sagrada Familia?
