Hollywood in trouble – level 2
22-12-2025 07:00
Hollywood changes because people watch movies in new ways. TV, streaming, and AI take people’s time. Big stories and shows help people go to movie theaters.
Warner Bros. is one of the biggest studios, and it is for sale. This may change the movie world because fewer companies may control more movies. The main buyers are Netflix and Paramount. Netflix wants the studio, library, and streaming service. Paramount wants the full company with cable channels. Each deal has risks and benefits. Officials must make sure one company doesn’t get too much power.
Even with these changes, people still want to watch stories. Big movies give fun experiences with friends at the theaters. Small movies stay at home. Hollywood needs stories, business plans, and viewers to work well.
Difficult words: streaming (watching videos, music, or shows on the internet), studio (a place for making movies), benefit (something good that helps you or makes life better).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What distinguishes Netflix’s proposal from Paramount’s in their bids for Warner Bros., and why must officials guard against one company gaining too much power?
