Good news of 2025 – level 2

01-01-2026 07:00

In 2025, many good things happened around the world. Clean energy made more electricity than coal for the first time.

China, India, and Europe used more energy from the sun and wind. Some European countries closed their last coal plants early. Low-carbon energy reached a new high level. These changes showed that countries can change their energy use when they choose to act.

Governments helped people in simple ways. Australia cut student debt for many people. In the United States, New Mexico gave free childcare to all families. Parents saved money, and many workers found new jobs. Countries also protect nature. Large ocean and forest areas got new protection, which helped animals and local people.

Health care also improved. Doctors got a malaria medicine for newborn babies. Other medical work helped people with serious illnesses and cancer. These steps made life better for many people.

Difficult words: coal (a black rock people burn to make energy), student debt (money a student must pay back after studying), protection (keeping people, animals, or places safe).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What benefit did New Mexico extend to all families, allowing parents to save money and many workers to find new jobs?
