Finns love blueberries – level 1

06-10-2025 15:00

Blueberries are very special in Finland. People love them. In summer, many people go to the forest to pick them. They can do it freely. Families go together. Children learn from their parents where to pick blueberries.

Blogger Varpu Rusila says that picking blueberries is fun and a way to love nature. Finnish people eat blueberries every day. They put them in porridge, pie, ice cream, and smoothies. Wild blueberries are small and very tasty. They also help people stay strong and healthy.

In Helsinki, people see blueberries in many places. Shops and cafés sell food with blueberries. For Finnish people, blueberries mean health, family time, and love for the forest.

Difficult words: freely (without limit or rule), nature (the world of trees, animals, land, and so on), porridge (soft food when you cook oats in water or milk).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
