My friends are shocked when I speak English – level 1

This is a story for people who want to learn English. This can be your story too.
I am on holiday in another country. I sit in a nice restaurant with my friends. We look at the sea. The waiters in the restaurant speak English. Our friend Peter speaks English too. He can order food for us.

At one moment, Peter’s phone rings. He says, “Sorry.” He says that he has an important call. He says, “Please order a beer and a steak with potatoes for me.” Then he leaves.

The waiter comes. He smiles and gives us the menus. He asks in English what we want to drink.

We are quiet. We look at each other. Nobody speaks English.

I think, “This is my chance.” I smile, look at the waiter, and say, “Can I have a glass of wine and some water, please?”

I ask my friends what they want and tell the waiter their orders.

The waiter leaves. My friends are shocked. They look at me and can’t believe it.

One friend asks, “How is it possible that you speak English?”

I smile and say, “I speak English because I learn with LangoPlay every day. It is a game. I play every day, learn some new words, and it helps me.”

There is a short pause. Another friend says, “Can you show me the game? Maybe I can play it too.”

I say, “Yes. LangoPlay is easy. You can start for free. You can play at www.langoplay.com.”

Difficult words: order (to say what you want at a restaurant), rings (when a phone makes a sound), important (when something is important, you must do it).

What game does the narrator say he plays every day to learn English?
