New Year’s goals – level 2

02-01-2026 15:00

Many people make New Year’s goals, but most quit after a few weeks. An expert explains that people fail because they focus only on actions and not on thinking. She says a strong mindset helps people believe they can change and succeed.

She tells people to choose small and clear goals. Goals should fit the person and feel meaningful. A coach or therapist can help you stay focused and motivated. When people make mistakes, they should not give up. They can learn and try again in a new way.

Palmer also says people need to be kind to themselves. Everyone has bad days, but positive thinking helps people stay calm and keep moving forward. When people care about their health and stay happy, goals feel easier to reach.

Difficult words: fail (to not reach a goal or not succeed), mindset (the way a person thinks and sees situations), succeed (to reach a goal or do something well).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How does Palmer suggest people handle mistakes when working toward their goals?
