Reading changes our brain – level 1
15-12-2025 07:00
Babies cannot read. They can see and talk a little, but they must learn to read words and letters. Reading uses the brain for seeing, hearing, talking, and focusing.
A long time ago, people use pictures and symbols to write. Later, these become letters as we know them today.
Reading changes the brain. Different languages use the brain in different ways. In, some languages you must remember pictures. Learning new languages can change the brain.
Reading can make people feel. Reading on phones or tablets can make people read fast and not think well. Children need help from parents and teachers to read a lot and think clearly.
Difficult words: focus (to look at or think about one thing carefully), symbol (a picture, or letter which stands for something else), brain (the organ in your head which makes you think, feel, and move).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What effect can reading on phones or tablets have on the way people read and think?
