Reading changes our brain – level 2

15-12-2025 07:00

Reading is not something we are born with. Our brain can see and speak, but we must learn to read letters and words.

Reading uses the brain to see, hear, speak, and focus on things. Writing began a long time ago with symbols and pictures, and later became letters and words we use today.

Reading changes the brain, but different languages use the brain in different ways. Some languages use memory for pictures more than letters. Learning new languages changes the brain depending on the writing style.

Reading can make people feel what they read. Reading on screens can make people only look quickly at words, which can cause mistakes. Children with too much screen time may not focus well. Teachers and parents should help children read a lot to think better.

Difficult words: brain (the organ in your head that controls thinking, feeling, and moving), focus (to look at or think about one thing carefully), memory (what you remember).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How does reading on screens affect focus and error rates compared to traditional reading?
