Camels lived in Canada – level 1

15-03-2013 14:00

We all know that camels live in deserts. But it wasn’t always true. Millions of years ago they also lived in Canadian forests. People in Canada found the bones of a really big camel. It lived in Canada three and a half million years ago.

The big camel was like the modern camel but bigger. It didn’t have a problem with snow because it had really big feet. People think that the big camel was lost during the last ice age when it looked for warmer places to live.

Interesting words: found (saw), ice age (cold period of time about 10 000 years ago), look for (try to see).
